Echocardiography

Echocardiography uses ultrasound to observe the real-time motion of the heart (Figure 9A). The advantage of ultrasonic examination is that it can be performed safely and easily. Echocardiography can measure the size and motion of the heart and the wall thickness. In addition, heart valve abnormalities are currently the most accurate diagnostic method (Figure 9B).By using the color Doppler method can be accurately measured, and the blood flow, its directionality and speed can be displayed in color. This is useful for diagnosing the presence of regurgitation in the heart valve, or when the wall of the heart is naturally punctured. Similar to the stress electrocardiogram, can observe in real time how the heart movement and blood flow change when stress is applied to the heart.
